As long as I can remember I’ve always liked creating artwork. I taught myself how to draw using books and a lot of practice. I filled many sketchbooks in my childhood and when I was in high school became exposed to many other avenues of artistic expression. I learned painting, ceramics & pottery, and photography among other things. I was awarded the Kodak Medallion of Excellence for one of my photographs and was also awarded an art scholarship upon graduating from high school.

College was where I received my first serious training in drawing and painting. I knew I wanted to pursue graphic design as my career so I majored in communication design. I found a lot of joy and satisfaction as a graphic designer. I formed my own design studio in 1984 and became busy with building a business and starting a family. I put my artistic aspirations on hold until COVID destroyed 90% of my clients and therefore 90% of my business. I am in the process of building it back up, but in this economy, it’s a challenge. Since I had more time on my hands, I decided to get back into creating art—specifically painting.

I tend to get bored doing the same things, so unlike most artists who are known for a particular style, I like to paint in different styles. If you follow my work you will see me introduce new artwork that is varied in style and subject matter. I hope you find joy and pleasure in my artwork and check back regularly to view new work.
