Cottonwood Creek Sunrise

18″ x 24″.  Oil & acrylic on canvas. June 2020.

$2,997  SOLD!

I was walking home in the early morning on a warm spring day in 2020 when I came to a bridge that overlooked Cottonwood Creek near my home in Colorado Springs. The sun was just rising and bathed the mountains in its golden light as the moon was rising above the peaks. It was one of those magic moments I had to recreate on canvas.

When you zoom in on the detail images you can clearly see my technique of dabbing paint to create colors somewhat similar to how impressionists used pointillism. When viewed from afar the eye blends the colors, but up close you see all the individual colors.
