This is one of my favorite paintings from one the great Western movies of all time, “Tombstone”. Val Kilmer played Doc Holliday and did an amazing job. Kurt Russell played Wyatt Earp. The detail image shows Doc Holliday’s face ravaged by tuberculosis.

By 1887, his hard living had caught up to him, forcing him to seek treatment for his tuberculosis at a sanitarium in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. He died in his bed at only 36 years old.
