This is the first painting I did since my college days. We had just moved from the Chicago area to Colorado Springs and I decided to start painting again. I decided to choose something simple. While on vacation in Banff, Alberta Canada the year prior, we were walking through a meadow and came across this scene.
I was struck by the simple shapes and colors—the golden meadow, dark green row of pine trees, the majestic Mount Rundle, and the town of Banff below.
